UPRISING A BALLET DRAMATIZING EVENTS
OF THE WARSAW GHETTO
Excerpts performed by Ballet Espressivo
"Witness the battle between light and dark in this heart-wrenching ballet that tells the story of Mordecai Anielewicz, leader of the Jewish resistance fighters in the Warsaw Ghetto, how he led his guerrilla warriors and fought back against Nazi brutality at the cost of many lives and in the face of impossible odds. Stalked by the shadow of death at every turn, these warriors triumphed in spirit and inspired others. Uprising takes us into the world of human perversity and the highest heroism."

Premiere Dance Theare
Please join us for another fine performance from Ballet Espressivo, choreographed by Donna Greenberg and performed by dancers:

Meditation: A woman meditates on her separation from her lover. He returns and their life-dance continues.
The Grand Fugue: Elegance, formalism, power and virtuosity come together; set to Beethoven’s Grande Fugue, op. 133.
